Check out our stop-by-stop guide to environment and climate-related content at Web Summit this November to maximise your experience across the three days.

With so many insightful talks, masterclasses and Q&As to choose from, it can be difficult to plan a comprehensive event schedule – one that includes the best options for you.

To help you, we have curated an environment-themed journey to guide you through the event and help you get the most out of your time at Web Summit.

Stop ①: Web Summit mobile app

This is your first stop! Before you begin, download the Web Summit mobile app. It’s your ticket, networking tool and schedule planner – all in one place.

Stop ②: The curated impact track

Check out all of the impact-related content at Web Summit 2023! It ranges from climate and the environment to social justice, tech and equality, human rights and much, much more.

Stop ③: Onstage content

planet:tech is our dedicated sustainability track, where top-tier speakers – including leading activists and founders – tackle tech’s solutions to some of our planet’s most pressing problems.

Equally concerned with the future of this pale blue dot is Future Societies, a place where innovators and leaders size up society’s most urgent issues, including climate change and climate action.

This year, Web Summit will introduce a brand new track, Energy. Here, experts will dive deep into the energy industry and conduct a thorough examination of the world’s energy dynamics. As we race to limit the devastation of climate change, Energy offers a conversation that transcends the confines of traditional and renewable sectors and shines a spotlight on the technologies that civilisation needs.

Stop ④: Take a beverage break

You’ve probably worked up a thirst after catching all those talks! Visit one of our many coffee stands or water stations to get refreshed.

We have eliminated single-use plastics at our events, so don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottle and coffee mug.

But don’t worry if you forget – we will have fully recyclable paper cups available, if needed.

Speaking of sustainability, did you know that Web Summit events are zero-waste? In 2022, we recovered 110 kilograms of food across all our events. This equalled 220 estimated meals, which amounted to 462 ppm of CO2 avoided.

Stop ⑤: Sustainable and cleantech startups

Environmental startups are one of the fastest-growing startup categories that will join us to exhibit in Lisbon.

From carbon capture to sustainable packaging – we’ve got it all.

Click and browse through the huge number of environment-related startups waiting for you at Web Summit.

Stop ⑥: Machine

This high-tech track is worth a visit for its focus on EVs (electric vehicles) and sustainable transport. Will we ditch SUVs in favour of small and smart eco-friendly cars? Come along to Machine and find out.

Stop ⑦: Night Summit

Round off your Web Summit experience with three nights of dancing, DJs, refreshments and meaningful connections.

Start with the meet and greet session at Hub Criativo do Beato on Monday November 13, network – and dance – at Pátio da Galé and Praça do Comércio on Tuesday November 14, and wrap things up with our Night Summit party at Pavilhão Carlos Lopes on Wednesday November 15. Saúde!
